"But an element of tragedy always makes for good poetry."
-Mary Doria Russell, Children of God
I think of all the great movies and poems and literature, and the sorrow and tradegy which helps make them "great." Death. Loss. Lossed love. That's how life goes, right? I think of Romeo and Juliet. Would it have been the same if they lived? An element of tragedy adds complexity. I equate poetry with beauty. And tragedy can be beautiful.
